Bring Your Affidavit of Service to Red Seal Notary
November 25, 2013

An affidavit is a written statement of facts, confirmed by an oath or affirmation.
Affidavits are sworn before an officer having the authority to administer oaths or affirmations, such as a notary public or commissioner of oaths.
An Affidavit of Service (also called Proof of Service) confirms to the courts that certain legal documents have been successfully delivered to an individual. The person who served the documents must sign the affidavit in the presence of a notary public or commissioner of oaths.
Affidavits of Service should include:
- the name and address of the server
- the name of the person served
- the date, time, and place the documents were presented to that individual
- how the individual was identified
- a copy of the served papers is attached as an exhibit
If you have served someone with legal papers or court documents, Red Seal Notary can assist you with your Affidavit of Service.
