Notarization
Trust in every signature
Need a document notarized?
Notarization refers to a notary public acting as an official witness to the execution (signing) of contracts, agreements, and other legal documents such as affidavits, statutory declarations and certified true copies of original documents to name a few.
Having documents notarized provides assurance that the particular person actually signed the document in front of the notary. In essence, notaries perform a useful function removing some of the risk associated with an individual claiming they did not sign the document.

Don't Sign Yet!
To notarize a signature, the document must be signed by the individual in the physical presence of the Notary and only when asked to do so by the Notary.
The most common mistake is to have the document pre-signed and/or brought in on behalf of someone else. Usually, this is easily rectified by the individual attending and signing the document in front of the Notary.
International Documents
Many legal documents can be sworn, affirmed or declared before a Commissioner of Oaths, who need not be a Notary Public. However, if the document itself is going to be used outside the jurisdiction, especially internationally, you will likely need to swear or declare before a Notary.
